Paul C. Olson, 74, of rural Mabel, died Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Green Lea Senior Living in Mabel, Minn.
Paul was born February 14, 1950 in La Crosse, Wis.,to Perlind and Elvina (Nerstad) Olson. In 1969 he graduated from Mabel-Canton High School. He farmed on the family farm near Mabel in Preble Township of Fillmore County. On February 28, 1987, he married Donna Stetzer Schroeder. Donna later passed away on October 10, 2004.
Paul was a member of the Scheie Lutheran Church and enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing cards, joking around, and animals, especially dogs.
Paul is survived by a brother and sister Charles (Fay), and Karen (Neil) Rasmussen, both of Mabel: five nieces and nephews: Heath and Adam Olson, Kimberlea Wagner, Tara (Dan) Kreidermacher and Lance Rasmussen; step-children Deanna (Harley) Welscher, Sherry (Kevin) Turner, Lisa (Greg) Rostad, Todd Schroeder and Tony (Gwen) Schroeder; step-grandchildren Ryan Welscher, Carrie Boyum, Christy Smith, Kevin Bulman, Brooke Bulman, Nicholas Bulman, Cameron Schroeder and Elliott Schroeder; several great-nieces and nephews, step-great grandchildren, and special friends Eleanor McConnell and Marion Nerstad.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, his parents Perlind and Elvina, and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Scheie Lutheran Church in rural Mabel, with the Rev. Carla Reierson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. The Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel is assisting with arrangements.
