Pat Dahl

October 31, 2023 by Fillmore County Journal

Pat Dahl obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Pat Dahl passed away Friday, October 27, 2023, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.

Pat was born August 18, 1933, to Gordon and Florence Johnson.  Pat graduated from Mabel High School and attended McMurray College in Springfield, Ill., for design.

On June 20, 1954, Pat married Truman Dahl.  Pat and Truman took over the Dahl Family Farm in 1959.  For many years, Pat partnered with Truman, selling Pioneer seed corn.  Pioneer Days were highlighted by Pat’s homemade donuts.  Pat was an avid rosemaler and owned and operated Hilltop Rosemaling.

Pat and Truman blessed their children with an idyllic childhood.  Pat was always up for an adventure, even whitewater rafting with her grandchildren.  Their home was a revolving door of kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The first stop through the door being the freezer which always stocked with Schwans ice cream treats.  Pat was preceded in death by her parents and brother Lowell.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Truman; children Margo Aakre, Randy (Kathy), Mark (Peggy) and Tim (Becky); eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In honor of her love of genealogy research, please direct memorials to Highland Prairie Cemetery Fund or Highland Prairie WELCA.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service – Rushford is assisting the family with arrangements. www.hofffuneral.com.
