Pam Kunert Candidate for Ostrander Mayer

October 17, 2022 by Fillmore County Journal

Pam Kunert

Candidate for Ostrander Mayer

1. Tell us about yourself.

My family and I have lived in Ostrander since 1983. I have four children and 27 grandchildren. I am a retired RN with 50 years experience in the medical field. I was a first responder in Ostrander for 19 years. I have been the mayor for the last four years, with many years as a council member. We enjoy camping when my husbands health allows it. Bob and I will be married 50 years in June.

2. Why are you running for office?

I am running for mayor as I feel there is work yet for the council to complete. I love working with the citizens of Ostrander. Working with them allows me to listen and help find a solution and also to celebrate our accomplishments. We are meeting as a council in November to set priorities on what our next steps will be for the city. It has been a joy working with our city engineering and the sheriff’s department and others that I look forward to continue working with.

3. What do you hope to accomplish if you get elected?

I hope to accomplish to continue being fiscally responsible, keep our city beautiful and clean and to work on capital projects for the future.
