At the Chatfield City Council’s April 12 meeting, Carla Gallina, president of the board of directors for the Chatfield Center for the Arts, requested approval to use the bandshell area in City Park for two upcoming events.
The outdoor concerts are scheduled for April 30 (featuring Myra Burnette) and June 18 (featuring Galactic Cowboy Orchestra). State health guidelines will be observed for the live music events. The use of the bandshell was approved for both events.
The council also approved an extension of the CCA liquor license for the concert area on these dates.
Gallina explained they are working on hosting “Down to the River” summer day camp in partnership with Eagle Bluff Learning Center. It is intended to be a five-day camp open to kids grade three through five. It will be hosted at CCA and will include short trips to city parks to explore nature and gather craft materials. Two sessions are scheduled for the day camp from June 21 through June 25.
Gallina said the CCA is also in early planning stages for a series of community focused pop-up concerts, exhibits and demonstrations to take place throughout Chatfield.
