On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, voters were called upon in three school districts in Fillmore County, Minn.
In Chatfield, the school district referendum passed with 496 voters in favor of renewing its expiring referendum authorization of $476 per pupil. There were 181 votes against the seven year tax.
With a vacant seat on the Chatfield School Board, Josh Thompson was the only candidate on the ballot, earning 573 votes. There were 31 votes for write-in candidates.
For the Rushford-Peterson School District, there were two candidates on the ballot. Carl Schollmeier received 274 votes while Beverly Helleland earned 34 votes. Write-in candidate Nancy Snyder racked up 216 votes. All of these votes will be certified at the special meeting that will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. in the Forum Room at the school.
The Kingsland School District presented results with six candidates receiving votes. Two candidates were on the ballot. Cindy Seabright earned the most with 147 votes. Pam Freet received 115 votes. For write-in candidates, Mike Rainey reeled in 123 votes. William Durst, Jenny Simon, and Greg Melartin each earned one vote per candidate.
