The variance request seeks approval to allow the construction of a structure with a 6-foot side yard setback from alley, rather than the 10-foot side yard setback required by the current city zoning ordinance. Granting this variance will allow the residential to be out of compliance with the setback requirement as outlined in Appendix B (Ord. 52, passed 11/6/1985, § 3)
