Over 1,500 producers and 1,100,000 acres have been Water Quality Certified in Minnesota.
The Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program (MAWQCP) is a voluntary opportunity for farmers and agricultural landowners to take the lead in implementing conservation practices that protect our water.
Water Quality Certified producers receive regulatory certainty, recognition, and priority for technical assistance. Additionally, the public receives assurance that certified producers are using conservation practices to protect Minnesota’s lakes, rivers and streams.
Once certified, a producer may also pursue any of the MAWQCP’s five endorsements for Wildlife, Integrated Pest Management, Irrigation Water Management, Climate Smart, and Soil Health. The MAWQCP Endorsements recognize producers who go above and beyond to implement conservation on their land. An asterisk next to a producer’s name indicates they have earned at least one endorsement.
