Lyle M. Rolfshus

Lyle M. Rolfshus, 87, of Mabel, died Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Green Lea Senior Living in Mabel.

Lyle was born June 18, 1929 in Spring Grove, Minn., to Adolph and Victoria (Humphrey) Rolfshus. He graduated from the Mabel High School in 1947. In 1948, he married LaVaughn Sand. They later divorced. Lyle worked at several places, including Rolfshus Hardware in Mabel, a milk route in the Mabel area, Mansfield Manufacturing, then later Argus Manufacturing in Spring Grove, Roverud Construction in Spring Grove, and property management in Rochester, Wayzata, and Litchfield. He retired to Arizona and lived there several years before returning to Rochester.

Lyle is survived by his children, Lisa (Robert) Kelly of Dodge Center, Minn.; and Leigh (Doris) Rolfshus of Golden Valley, Minn.; five grandchildren: Ryan (Heather) Kelly of Wichita, Kans.; Megan (Travis) Gill of Zumbrota, Minn.; Bridget (Reggie) Stevens of Savage, Minn.; Victoria (McLean) Severson of Deerwood, Minn.; and Peter Rolfshus of Minneapolis, Minn.; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Gabrielson.

A private family graveside service will be held in the Hesper Public Cemetery. Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel is assisting with arrangements.
