Luan Ruesink

Candidate for Spring Valley City Council

1. Tell us about yourself:

My name is Luan Ruesink. I am running for re-election to Spring Valley City Council.

I work for the Mayo Clinic and celebrated my 26th anniversary there this past June. I have worked in the legal field for Mayo Clinic for the past 22 years. I am a graduate of Wykoff Public School and hold a bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies and a diploma degree in Medical/Legal Administration. I am legally ordained and serve as the Director of Youth Education at Immanuel Lutheran Church. I also serve as a member of the Spring Valley Living Board of Directors.

2. Why are you running for office?

My goal in running for re-election to Spring Valley City Council is to be able to continue to make Spring Valley a prime place to live, work and visit. I also hope to be able to continue to serve as an advocate for its residents and business owners. Striving for our community to grow and expand is something I hope residents allow me the opportunity to continue pursuing.

3. What do you hope to accomplish if you get elected?

If re-elected my goal is to continue to bring a balanced, open minded perspective to city matters. And to continue to be a representative of residents of all ages. I feel positive motivation is key so that the duties of being a city council member can be fulfilled with a broader view of what is best for the present and the future our city. Focusing on the best interests of our community, businesses and residents has always and will continue to be what I strive for. Thank You for your support and I hope to welcome your vote this November.
