Come on out and join in the fun at Chatfield’s 55th Annual Western Days, August 11-14. The event celebrates the town’s history while supporting the community’s non-profit organizations.
On Sunday, Boice will present “A Toast to the Classics & Elvis” followed by Brad & RPG Band. Make sure to bring lawn chairs as it is an outdoor performance.
Steve Rowland and last year’s winner, Barb Ames are back this year for the second annual Great Peanut Butter Tasting Challenge. Four contestants will attempt to identify three different chunky peanut butter brands, Jif, Skippy, and Best Choice.
Wits’ End Theatre presents “Once Upon a Mattress” on August 12 at 7 p.m. and August 13 at 5 p.m. This is a play for all ages.
Check out the free live entertainment in the city park throughout the weekend and enjoy the classic car show which drew 125 cars last year.
Attendees are encouraged to support local non-profit organizations by purchasing cold drinks and a variety of mouth-watering food from St. Paul Lutheran Church, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, s, Squeeze Shack Lemonade Stand, JW’s Silver Grill, Gleason’s Concession, Stumpy’s Concessions, Hanson Girls Concessions, and VFW Chicken BBQ.
In addition to the usual kids entertainment, Harmony’s JEM movie theatre is sponsoring for the first time the face-paced toad races and a free children’s movie in the park.
Include a visit to the Chatfield Historical Museum/Pease Museum and Veteran’s Memorial Museum while in town.
Activities cumulate with a fireworks finale honoring veterans.
