Letter about response to
OHV letters…
To the Editor,
I commend Karla Bloem for presenting facts regarding the proposed Houston OHV trails (FCJ October 11 commentary) in response to Keith Nelson’s Commentary(FCJ, October 4) who presented no real facts to compare the trails he was representing in way northern Minnesota to proposed Houston trails. My first thought in reading Mr. Nelson’s comments was wondering if he has ever been here or visited. From his negative description and supposed observations of Houston, it sure didn’t seem like the same town I have come to know, love, and depend on for many of my business needs as well as recreation. Apparently he didn’t take a cruise through the Trailhead park to see the parking lot regularly displaying vehicles’ license plates from Wisconsin, Iowa, and of course, Minnesota with bike racks on the back. Quite frankly I was very offended by his inference that anybody opposing the trail are a bunch of “people making things testy in town.”
Savethebluffs.com has the information we need to see why this proposed trail would be a detriment to the area.
Sincerely, Joan Redig
right outside Houston, Minn.
