Letter about gone but not forgotten…
To the Editor,
I was at the Lanesboro Arts Center this past week to see an exhibition of quilts. These quilts were made by Women of Color Quilters Network’s “We Are the Story” initiative.
It is an effort to foster community conversation around racial equality. The hope is that this work will spark curiosity and reflection on how these issues interact with our community.
The skill of the quilters and the variety of the presentations was more than I had expected.
We hear all too often of the killing of black people by the police, here in Minnesota and all around the country.
This exhibit makes it so very real. I recommend that everyone see it. I am going again.
This exhibit continues until April 1, Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Private showings may be arranged.)
Sincerely, Harvey Benson
Harmony, Minn.
