To the Editor,
I’m Chloe and I’m going to be talking about ocean pollution. This is a subject I feel strongly about because a lot of people don’t get that soon there’s a possibility that there could be more trash in the ocean than fish. That’s CRAZY. You see, when a bird, fish or anything consumes plastic it feels full so it won’t eat until it dies because plastic does not decompose. In fact it takes 450 years for a plastic bottle alone to decompose. Imagine not eating for 450 years. Without eating you would die before that plastic decomposes. Another fact is that about 100 million marine wildlife animals die a year. That’s crazy, right?
It is not okay what we are doing to this marvelous sea. So before you go to throw away that plastic bottle, put it in the recycling. Or when you go to the grocery store, ask for a paper bag instead of plastic.
There’s so many more things to do. I hope this is enough for you to see what is going on in this ocean. You can make an impact.
