In October we were “scared out of our wits.” In November we were “thankful.” Now it is December. It’s time for “Peace on Earth”!
One memory I cherish of my childhood was Christmas morning. My family would gather around the fireplace where we would be enchanted by the flames dancing before us and listen to my father’s voice as he read aloud the story of Christ’s birth. “And there were in the same country, shepherds in the the field keeping watch over their flock by night when the angel of the lord appeared before them and they were sore afraid! And the angel said unto them, “Fear not – for I bring you tidings of great joy! For unto you is born this day a Savior, Christ the Lord!” Each December we welcome the warm lights and the music of of Christmas. We are stirred to embrace the spirit of hope and love. We renew the courage to face what is ahead of us in the New Year.
Merry Christmas to all!
