Letter about prejudice…
To the Editor,
In the Fillmore County Journal of September 6, 2021, Catherine Glynn wrote an excellent commentary regarding prejudice against race and religion.
In the Fillmore County Journal of September 13, 2021, both the Fillmore County Discussion on Race Group and the Rev. Pam Seebach addressed these same issues. As most of us know, this issue of prejudice against another race or religion has been with us for all of our history. It is not a concern to be addressed for just a week or two and then forgotten. This is an ongoing daily concern we live with in our county, state and country. It should be kept as an ongoing subject so we may, hopefully, learn and become a more accepting citizenry.
I encourage all of us citizens to contact our local elected officials to know that we are concerned by what happens around us. As Catherine reminded us at the very beginning, “The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference.”
