Kimberly Ann Pongratz, age 64, of La Crescent, Minn., died peacefully on October 29, 2025.
She was born on February 17, 1961, in Caledonia, Minn., to Roger and Marilyn (Snyder) DeWitt. She graduated from Caledonia High School in 1979 and attended the Technical College in La Crosse, Wis., earning a degree in radiography. She married Dana James Pongratz on September 25, 1982.
After graduating from college, she worked at Gundersen Lutheran in the field of her study. She later decided to make a career change and became an in-home daycare provider. She found great joy loving and caring for countless children as if they were her own, for over 20 years.
Kim enjoyed boating on the river with family and friends, and summer vacations in Cable, Wis. She was also an avid reader and loved decorating the house for holidays.
She is survived by her three children: Jessica (John) Glasspoole, Tyler (Katie) Pongratz, and Colin (Chelsie Eden) Pongratz; four grandchildren: Megan and Caitlin Glasspoole, and Kora and Kada Pongratz; mother Marilyn DeWitt, brother Scott (Deanna) DeWitt, sister Connie (Tony) Wermager, and, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dana Pongratz, father Roger DeWitt, father-in-law John Pongratz, mother-in-law Ruth Pongratz, niece and nephew Nicole and Shane DeWitt, and her grandparents.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 15 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Holy Family Hall in Caledonia, Minn. Visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia, is assisting the family.
