Joseph “Joe” Quentin Burg, age 73, of Caledonia, passed away at his home on May 10, 2025.
He was born March 27, 1952, in Caledonia, to Quentin and Esther (Costello) Burg. He attended Loretto High School and graduated from Caledonia High School in 1970. Joe married Danielle Palubicki on August 11, 1973, were blessed with four wonderful children and they later divorced. He married Kathryn (Felten) Colsch on December 31, 2015. He was a lifelong farmer carrying on the tradition of farming that started on Jefferson Ridge and Winnebago Valley.
Joe enjoyed golfing, playing euchre, and watching all sports, especially the MN Vikings.
He is survived by his wife Kathy, children Jessica (Darryl) Twite of Caledonia and their children Jasmine (Justin) Bee, Olivia Twite and Davis Twite; Jamison (Jeni) Burg of Caledonia and their children Justin (Mariah) Burg, Jordan (Katelyn) Burg and Jackson Burg; Quentin (Shannon) Burg of Hermantown, Minn., and their children Landon Burg and Braxton Burg; and Bethany (Mathew) Thompson of Robbinsville, N. J., and their children Heather (Richard) Estonactoc, Maisie Thompson and Joseph Thompson; great-grandchildren Jaelyn and Josette Bee, Rosie Burg, Lulu and Penny Estonactoc; brother Jim (Cindy) Burg, sisters Carol (Ed) Barker, Connie (Mike) Graf-Horihan, Teresa (Mike) Ross, Mary (Jake) Hauser, Sue (Steven) Kiesau, Chris (Toby) Denstad, and Jan (Steve) Peterson; mother- and father-in-law John and Lorna Felten, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sue Felten and Brad (Anne) Felten and their boys.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am, Saturday, May 17, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Andrew Vogel will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Holy Family Hall, with a prayer service at 3:45 p.m. Visitation will also be from 10-10:45 a.m. Saturday morning before the service at the hall.
