James Ranzenberger obituary, Fillmore County Journal

James A. Ranzenberger, 70, of Rushford, Minn., died Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford.

James Alden Ranzenberger was born on June 30, 1953, in Caledonia, Minn., to Raymond and Gertrude (Blixrud) Ranzenberger. He was raised in Caledonia and was a graduate of Caledonia High School. He worked at Staggmeyer Stave Company in Caledonia and was a logger for most of his career in southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa. He also worked part-time at the Lanesboro American Legion in Lanesboro, Minn. James raised Appaloosa horses, led trail rides, and enjoyed camping, horseback riding and he absolutely loved his dogs and horses. He was also a very good grandpa.

James is survived by his wife Gayle Robbert, three stepchildren: Chandra (Aaron) Wilkemeyer, Shawn (Shannon) Woyak, and Jason (Jill) Woyak, many step-grandchildren, six siblings: John, Tom, Jane, Karen, Joyce, and Lisa; and by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Dave, Dan and Eileen.

There will be a memorial service for James at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
