Jacqueline “Jackie” Erlandson, age 75, of Mabel, Minn., died Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel.
Jackie was born October 13, 1947, to Lyle, Sr., and Adeline (Severide) Amdah. She attended the Newburg School and the Mabel High School. In 1968, she married Steven Erlandson. They lived in Newburg, rural Mabel and later in Canton, where they operated the Canton Cardinal Grocery Store. They were later divorced. Jackie moved to Mabel with her long-time companion, Tom Madson. She worked at Good Shepherd Lutheran and Green Lea Manor Nursing Homes as a CNA and later at Riverside Electronics Rushford, retiring in 2014. She was a member of the Scheie Lutheran Church in rural Mabel, where she taught Sunday School for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, word puzzles, trips to the casino, and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Jackie is survived by her children Lisa Erlandson of Mabel and Shane (Dawn) Erlandson of New Hampton, Iowa, son-in-law Larry Rogich, and Tom’s son Todd Madson of Racine, Minn.; grandchildren Sarah (Kevin) Williams, Clarissa (Nick) Spande, Victoria (Nick) Lechtenberg, Mitchell, Peyton, and Reed Erlandson, Levi Rogich, and Colleen (Jeff) Skoda; great-grandchildren Kate and Ayden Skoda, Lilly Spande, and Dawson and Owen Lechtenberg; siblings Ronald Barth of Owatonna, Minn., Alton (Sharon) Barth of Osseo, Wis., Lyle, Jr. “Jag” (Connie) Amdahl of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Jeanette (Eldon) Dahl of Woodville, Wis., and Joel “Boogie” (Nancy) Amdahl of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; sister-in-law Carolyn White of Mabel, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Laura; a daughter, Lynn Rogich; and special friend Tom Madson.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at the Scheie Lutheran Church in rural Mabel. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation was held 5-7 p.m., Monday, August 21 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
