Looking for something to do this weekend? Head to Bluff Country for the annual Rushford Days celebration. Rushford, a charming town of 1,845 people, nestled along the rushing Root River in Southeast Minnesota, hosts activities for all ages at its annual celebration from July 17-21.
Catch RASA’s (Rushford Area Society for the Arts) Arsenic & Old Lace performance at the Rushford-Peterson School Auditorium on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday nights at 7 p.m. The talented crew will have you in stitches.
Enjoy live entertainment by Outland on Friday, and Trouble Shooter on Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the festival tent.
Join fellow walkers and runners for the Annual Shoebox 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday at Creekside Park with the race starting at 8 a.m., and all proceeds will support shipping gift-filled shoeboxes to children worldwide through the Samaritan’s Purse Organization to Children.
Other Saturday events include the town’s popular car show from 12-3 p.m. and a pie & ice cream social at St. Joseph’s Montini Hall at 5 p.m. Don’t miss the grand parade at 7 p.m. The evening ends with fireworks at Creekside Park.
What’s new this year? Laser tag at Creekside Park on Saturday from 1-3 p.m.
Start your Sunday off on the right foot at the fly-in or drive-in pancake breakfast and plane rides at the Rushford Municipal Airport from 7 a.m. to 12 noon.
Kids will enjoy the pedal tractor pull, the Bluff Land Trojan Kids Challenge, a magic show, and a reptile and amphibian discovery zoo show.
