Fillmore County Journal - Fillmore County Sports

Maddox Rodriguez ran for 165 yards and 4 TDs and Lee Klunder 100 yards and one TD as Houston football (2-3, 2-3) beat AC/G-E 42-28. The duo are stepbrothers. Jonah Bunke ran for 172 yards and a TD as R-P (2-3, 2-3) beat Hayfield 54-6. Torryn Schneider had 16 digs and 5 aces on 25-25 serving as R-P volleyball beat La Crescent/Hokah 3-1. Spring Grove volleyball notched SEC wins over Houston and Schaeffer as well as going 3-2 in the bigger school Century Tourney. Sydney Holland had 9 aces versus the Lions.   Lanesboro notched SEC wins over G-E and Houston. Jensyn Storhoff had a triple double, 15 assists, 12 digs, and 11 aces, versus the Wolverines. Storhoff (31 assists, 18 digs) and Ellie Howard (24 digs) did work versus the ‘Canes. Emily Botcher (19 kills, 15 digs), Olivia Yohe (26 assists, 20 digs), and Cadence Koehler (22 digs) were big for Houston. Sahara Morken had 30 assists as M-C beat Schaeffer.  Said win ran the Cougars SEC win streak (unofficially) to 200. Fourth-ranked M-C (9-0, 25-2), the Lions (9-1, 15-15) and Burros (7-2, 12-6) top the SEC-East.  Meah Stevens (32 assists, 18 digs) and Benita Nolt (16 kills, 10 digs, 6 total blocks, 4 aces) led L-O (5-4, 8-9) in a 3-1 win over L/P. Kingsland got 42 digs from Paisley Robinson in 3-2 win over G-E.
