Sub-section track and field meets were held. At the Sub-1 event, C/SG’s sprinters were on full display. Both boys’ sprint relays took first. Josh Beardmore (100, L-Jump, 4×100, 4×200) qualified in four events, notching firsts in all but the Long Jump. Gabe Curley (100, 200, 4×100), Eli Staggemeyer (4×100, 4×200, 100), Owen Staggemeyer (4×100, 4×200, 200), and Fischer Wait (4×200, 200, 400) each qualified in three sprints. Warrior gal Nicole Banse (Long Jump, 200, 4×100, 4×200) also qualified four times. RPH’s Quintin Betthauser qualified in four events (110-hurdles, 300-hurdles, Triple Jump, 4×400). Gal teammate Aubry Boldt qualified thrice (100-hurdles, T-Jump, Long Jump) including winning the first two. LFCMC’s Kammry Broadwater (Discus, 4×400, 4×800) and Kinley Soiney (4×100, 4×200, 4×400) each qualified thrice. Burro Jayce Kiehne won his only two events (800, 4×400). At the Sub 2 Meet, GMLOKS’ squads each won team titles. Chantle Reiland had three individual first places (100, 200, Long Jump) and four total section qualifications (4×200). Teammates Gracie Foster and Breeley Galle also qualified in four events (100-H, 300-H, T-Jump, 4×200). Lexy Foster won both throws. Chatfield’s 4×100 and 4×200 teams (Lauryn Daniels, Savannah Peterson, Evy Goldsmith, Jaelyn LaPlante) each took first. LaPlante qualified four times total (also 200, High Jump). Peterson (100, Long Jump) and Lexi Kivimagi qualified thrice (1,600, 3,200, 4×400). On the guys’ side, GMLOKS’ Beau Wiersma (100, L-Jump, 4×100), Ayden Howard (T-Jump, L-Jump, 4×100), Tate Georgen (800, 4×800, 4×400), Nathaniel Drees (400, 4×400, 4×800), Erik Shaw (800, 4×400, 4×800), and Carter Glynn (1,600, 4×400, 4×800) each qualified thrice. Wiersma (100, L-Jump) and Georgen (800, 4×800) had two first places. Playoff baseball and softball started. Cayden Tollefsrud pitched a two-hit shut-out to lead 14-seed M-C over 3-seed K-W 2-0. Morgan Rohweder pitched eight innings of two-hit ball with 12 strikeouts, but 12-seed Houston fell to 5-seed Goodhue 2-1 in ten innings. Eight-seed Cannon Falls beat 1-seed Caledonia 4-2 to end the Warriors 19-game win streak. Olivia Yohe authored an RBI-triple to score the only run in 8-seed Houston’s 1-0 softball win over 9-seed Goodhue. Emily Botcher pitched the shut-out.
