Spring Grove baseball went 3-1 on the week, beating G-E/AC twice, Schaeffer once. Jaxon Strinmoen collected two pitching wins. M-C rallied from down 10-3 to beat GMLOK 11-10. In the teams’ first meeting, M-C led 8-2 only to lose 13-9. Morgan Rohweder drove in six runs as Houston topped Schaeffer 16-1. The junior also struck out 13 and collected the win in beating M-C 2-0. Zach Baker was 5-for-5 and Carson Johnson 4-for-5 as R-P baseball topped FC/L 13-5. Jonah Bunke was 4-for-4 as the Trojans beat M-C 16-3. Section 1A baseball seedings include; 11-seed W-K (6-14) at 6-seed SG (9-5, 13-7), 10-seed R-P (4-11, 7-13) at 7-seed L-A (9-11), 12-seed Houston (7-7, 9-11) at 5-seed Goodhue (9-10), 14-seed M-C (6-8, 6-14) at 3-seed K-W (13-6), and 15-seed FC/L (0-15, 1-19) at 2-seed L/P (17-2). In a game to help decide the TRC-West, Chatfield baseball fell to PEM 4-2. The Bulldogs (8-6, 9-8) and D-E (8-6, 13-7) share the division ahead of the Gophers. Parker Johnson hit a home run but GMLOK fell to Z-M 17-4. Section 1AA seedings include 9-seed Chatfield (7-7, 9-10) at 8-seed Cannon Falls (9-10) and 14-seed GMLOK (6-8, 6-14) at 3-seed Z-M (12-6). SG softball ended the year beating L/P, Schaeffer, and G-E/AC twice. Sydney Holland homered in game one of the doubleheader. R-P scored two in the eighth inning to down FC/L 9-7, sweeping a doubleheader. Cassandra Boyum and Shelby Tesch were each 4-for-5 in game two. Hailee Eiken drove in four runs and Tylar Wenthold struck out 11 and got the win as M-C beat L/P 12-2. Wenthold also struck out 17 in beating GMLOK 7-3, as the Cougars had a five-run seventh to annul a 3-2 deficit. Section 1A softball seedings include: 10-seed M-C (9-5, 10-9) at 7-seed L-A (10-10), 11-seed R-P (2-14, 6-14) at 6-seed W-K (10-9), 12-seed FC/L (0-15, 4-16) at 5-seed K-W (8-8), and 13-seed SG (7-7, 7-12) at 4-seed Hayfield (11-8). Lucie Voigt was 4-for-5, Mollie Voigt drove in four runs, and Aspen Kolling struck out 11 as GMLOK beat G-E/AC 12-5. Section 1AA seedings include 11-seed Lourdes (7-12) at 6-seed Chatfield (9-5, 13-7) and 13-seed GMLOK (8-6, 9-11) at 4-seed Z-M (10-10). Brayden Fretland tallied a 38 and Carson Harstad at 39 as Chatfield boys golf beat D-E to complete a perfect regular season (8-0, 10-0). Will LaFleur shot a 39 and Jaxson Meldahl a 40 in R-P’s win over Caledonia. Kaden Stettler shot a 37 and Jack Brogle a 38 as Lanesboro beat Houston. Stettler (41) also medaled versus G-E. Lanesboro’s girls won both meets to win the SEC regular season title (10-0).
