Guida (Anderson) Michelson, born on March 8, 1926, in Wykoff. Minn., to Olaus Anderson and Frederikke Kjeldsen, passed away at the age of 98 at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, Minn., on June 24, 2024.
Guida was a waitress at the Kahler hotel for nearly 25 years, retiring in 2006. In her free time, Guida loved to go to “the island” with her friends and try their luck at the casino, or head downtown to pull a “few” tabs. She also loved to gather with family and friends for a friendly poker game. She loved to joke around and have a good time with any and all, she had special nicknames for those closest to her. Guida also had a love of flowers and had some beautiful gardens at her home in Chatfield year after year. She also loved to decorate her home, frequently changing up the color themes and wallpapers, with plenty of knick-knacks and brass décor.
Guida is survived by four siblings: Clara Briggs and Liz Blade of Spring Valley, Minn., Donald Anderson of Adams, Minn., and Julia Merline of Roseville, Mich.; four children, Caryle Ingersoll of Houston, Tex., Roger Michelson and significant other Terry Jensen of Rochester, Minn., Paula (Tim) Silvius of Marion, Wis., and Julie Baier of Chatfield Minn.; five grandchildren, Scott Michelson and significant other Leslie Carpenter, Jeremy (Leah) Jacobson, Chris (Sam) Baier, Josh Baier, and Phillip (Erika) Jacobson; and eight great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Daryle Michelson (married January 10, 1946), two brothers, Harley and Gilbert Anderson; son Allan Michelson, grandsons Travis Michelson and Torrey Michelson, and son-in-law Joel Baier.
There will be a graveside service on July 24 at 1:30 at the Chatfield Cemetery.
