Gordon “Gordy” Anthony Myhre, age 68, of Spring Grove, passed away suddenly at his home on May 30, 2020.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Gordon died of Coronary Artery Disease.
He was born on Sept. 14, 1951, in Spring Grove to Arnold and Alice (Munkel) Myhre.
He was a Spring Grove High School graduate and attended Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wis., for auto mechanics. Gordon became a talented master plumber at Myhre Plumbing and Heating and supervised at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S. Dak., for many years. He had a vast vocabulary as demonstrated in his knowledge of electrical, mechanical and furniture refinishing skills.
Gordon had many interests including fishing, boating, softball, golfing, bowling, gardening, and canning.
In 1974 Gordon married Bonnie Gaustad. They were blessed with their daughter Danica. The couple later divorced.
Survivors include his daughter Danica of Spring Grove; His siblings: Joan (Tom) Baumgardner of Tallmadge, Ohio, Carolyn Solberg of Decorah, Iowa, Dorothy (Lyle) Bacon of Rochester, Minn., Mary Newgaard of Spring Grove, Minn., Helen Wiechmann of Lubboch, Tex., Richard (Sylvia) Myhre of Marshfield, Wis., Lorraine (Dwight) Perkins of Thorp, Wis., and Wayne (Sue) Myhre of Calmar, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers-in-law Paul Solberg and Carter Wiechmann.
Family and friends graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 13 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Spring Grove.
Roble Funeral Home of Spring Grove is assisting the family with arrangements.
