Maple Leaf Parish Churches: Spring Valley: Faith, Cherry Grove, Fountain, Preston (and Lenora)

Please take a moment and look at the Nativity Scene pictured here… take a moment to consider the Good News of the birth of our Savior Jesus… This is the Good News of Christmas…John 3:16 reminds us that God sent his only Son out of love for the human family… “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him  should not perish but have eternal life.  For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him…”  Jesus is truly the Light of the world!

It is a privilege and blessing to serve as the coordinator of these devotional writings which appear in The Fillmore County Journal.  Several area pastors share in this ecumenical ministry in writing uplifting and inspiring devotional articles which appear each week.  We are so thankful for this ecumenical writing project in our area.  It is a privilege to share in the Good News together.

I would like to turn to the historic  words of John F. Wade  from 1743 who shared these inspiring words at Christmas…

“O come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant, o come ye, o come ye, to bethlehem.  Come and behold him, born the king of angels, o come, let us adore him, o come let us adore him, o come, let us adore him, christ the lord…

Child for us sinners poor and in the manger, we would embrace  thee with love and awe.  Who would not love thee, loving us so dearly?

Yea, lord, we greet thee, born this happy morning, jesus, to thee be all glory given.  Word of the father, now in flesh appearing:

O come, let us adore him, o come let us adore him, o come let us adore him, christ  the lord!

May these inspiring words fill us with joy and renewed hope as we come to the manger of Jesus… Truly may Jesus be born anew in our hearts…  Merry Christmas… God’s blessings always!
