#6 Warriors Improved to 6-0 with Three Wins

Caledonia’s girls played three games on the week, posting three wins. They scored 206 total points while holding their foes to just 64. At La Crescent/Hokah, it was not pretty for the hosts. The Lancers (0-6) scored just five points and made only one field goal, as Scott Sorenson’s 6th-ranked Class AA group prevailed 73-5. Aubrie Klug had a season-high 27 points including hitting four threes. Nicole Banse (17 pts) and Josie Foster (15 pts) also reached double figures. Caledonia then travelled south to face Waukon in non-conference action. Senior Sienna Augedahl set a first quarter (it is Iowa) tone with 10 points (5-6 FGs). The Warriors won the first session 24-6. The lead was 34-13 at intermission. Foster then hit five third quarter threes. The Warriors prevailed 56-33. Foster (18 pts, 6-13 threes, 5 rebs), Klug (18 pts, 5 asts), and Augedahl (18 pts, 7-10 FGs, 8 rebs, 4 asts) hit double figures. The Warriors wrapped up the week at home, easily handling Fillmore Central by 77-24 final. Kensey King, a 6’0” junior forward, had a huge first half inside, racking up 18 points and 13 rebounds. She had more individual rebounds than FC’s whole team (seven) in the stanza. King finished with a monster double (22 pts, 8-12 FGs, 6-6 FTs, 17 rebs). Banse (18 pts, 6-8 FGs, 7 stls), Klug (12 pts, 5 asts, 4 stls), Foster (11 pts), and Augedahl (8 pts) helped. Sophia Brunner (9 pts, 5 rebs) led the Falcons. Courtesy of their big win early in the year, the Warriors (4-0, 6-0) lead the TRC-East over Cotter (3-1, 5-2). The Ramblers other loss is to #1 in Class AA Providence Academy 105-42.
