The fish in pool 5 on the Mississippi are sleeping easier. Gerald “Jerry” Roy Myers died Saturday, June 24, 2023. Jerry was born February 22, 1940, in Dexter Minn., to Valdie and Beuhlah Myers. He grew up in the Leroy, Minn., area. In 1958, Jerry joined the United States Navy. He served until 1963. August 1, 1963, Jerry married Susan Jo Blakley in Rochester, Minn. They moved to Spring Valley, Minn. Jerry worked at Thompson Motors for 36 years. Upon his retirement, he moved to Kellogg, Minn., to enjoy his love of fishing.
Jerry is survived by children Michael Myers, Sam (Amy) Myers, Bill Myers, Bob (Shelly) Myers and Marla (David) Irvine; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one brother, Glen Myers.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife and a grandson.
