In the Adam Fravel case, an omnibus hearing originally scheduled for July 20, 2023, in the Winona County District Court, was postponed to September 22.
Fravel has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder for allegedly killing Madeline Kingsbury, his former partner and the mother of their two children. Kingsbury went missing on March 31, 2023, and her remains were discovered north of Mabel on June 7, 2023, following a massive search. If found guilty, Fravel could face a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.
According to court documents, Zachary Bauer, a criminal defense attorney representing Fravel, said testing of evidence is still underway. He wants to see police body camera footage from all law enforcement involved in this matter. Bauer referenced the discovery process of the investigation, awaiting an estimated 400 page packet to be disclosed within the week. He cited that the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension would be providing additional testing with results becoming available by mid-August. The document concluded with, “Given the complexity of the investigation and the voluminous nature of discovery the parties jointly agree that the Default Omnibus Hearing” should be postponed. This would allow for the completion of discovery for both the prosecution and defense.
