In February of 2016, the Fillmore County Journal presented a book titled Boots & Badges: Honoring Fillmore County Veterans. This hardcover book encapsulated the military service of more than 3,400 veterans from Fillmore County, Minn., honoring generations of families who had served their country from the War of 1812 to current conflicts such as the Iraq War. This book has become a collection of memories to be shared for generations.
We cannot thank our veterans enough for the sacrifices they have made for our freedoms.
As a way of showing our continued support for local veterans organizations, the Fillmore County Journal will be donating a box of 20 Boots & Badges: Honoring Fillmore County Veterans books to each VFW and American Legion in Fillmore County, Minn.
Since each book retails for $49.95 plus tax, each VFW and American Legion can sell their books as a fundraiser and retain 100% of the proceeds.

In addition, to help promote each of the VFW and American Legion organizations selling these books, the Fillmore County Journal will run an advertisement in the newspaper to promote where books can be purchased.
