On July 6, Ted John Lord, 60, and Angela Marie Chamberlain, 43, both of Prosper, appeared before District Court Judge Matthew J. Opat. Each is charged with Drugs – 3rd Degree – Possess 10 Grams or More a Narcotic Drug Other Than Heroin, and Drugs – Store Meth Paraphernalia in the Presence of a Child or Vulnerable Adult. Each are the felonies, the first carrying a maximum criminal penalty of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both, the second a maximum penalty of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both. On or about July 2, Fillmore County officers executed a drug search warrant at a residence in Prosper. Lord and Chamberlain were allegedly the two adults in the dwelling. Each allegedly admitted there was methamphetamine in the home. Drug related items allegedly found included glass pipes commonly used to smoke meth, suspected meth in a Tupperware container, a latex glove with suspected meth residue, another clear Tupperware container with white lid with trace amounts of meth, 12 Lidocaine patches with no prescription, working digital scale with suspected meth residue, and a jewelry drawer with a trace amount of a white powdery substance suspected cocaine. A nine-year old female was allegedly removed from the house. The total weight of the suspected methamphetamine found equaled 10.1 grams.
On July 20, Chad James Mikesh, 40, of New Hampton, Iowa, appeared before District Court Judge Matthew J. Opat. Mikesh is charged with Violate No Contact Order – Within Ten Years of the First of Two or More Convictions, a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both. On or about July 17, a vehicle was pulled over for speeding north of Spring Valley. Its occupants were allegedly the defendant Mikesh and a female party. An order for protection allegedly exists, specifically stating, ‘defendant (Mikesh) shall stay away from protected party (the female) and shall not be in that party’s presence except in a courtroom during court hearing.’ The order is effective until 2024. Mikesh has two adjudications, for Domestic Abuse Assault and Simple Assault, of of Chickasaw County, Iowa.
