On April 23, Jeremy Lee Bobo, 42 of Winona, and Breann Elizabeth Konopisos-Hart, 38 of Alma, Wis., appeared before District Court Judge Carmaine Sturino. The couple are each charged with three counts of Receiving Stolen Property and one count of Receiving Stolen Property, Aid and Abet. Counts I and IV carry maximum criminal penalties of 10 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fines, counts II and III carry penalties of five years in prison and/or $10,000 fines. On or about April 22, the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office reported a Kia Sportage allegedly stolen from out of Fountain City, Wis. Law enforcement allegedly traced the vehicle and couple (via cell phone) to rural Lanesboro, and then Lanesboro. The couple are well-known to Fillmore County law enforcement. Bobo and Hart were found. The vehicle was discovered. License plates to the vehicle had allegedly been changed to that from Winona County, where a burglary had recently occurred. At the scene of that crime, the license plates for the Kia Sportage allegedly were found. The alleged suspects were surveilled and then apprehended, Kia Sportage keys in Hart’s pocket. A search warrant was drafted and granted for the couple’s room at Green Gables. An identification card for T.B.M. was allegedly discovered. Bank statements, tax, and legal documents for another party were allegedly discovered. Several duplicate vehicle titles (regarding a case out of Peterson) were allegedly discovered.
On June 8, Joel Orvin Torgerson, appeared before District Court Judge Matthew J. Opat. Torgerson, 50 of Canton, is charged with 5th Degree Drugs – Sale – Marijuana Mixture Except Small Amount of Marijuana with No Remuneration. It is a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. On or about September 11, 2019, sheriff’s officers from multiple counties executed a search warrant for the defendant’s property based off pictures previously taken allegedly showing multiple suspected marijuana plants. During the search, drug paraphernalia and multiple marijuana plants were among those items of significance allegedly found.
