Fillmore Central (5-0, 10-1) topped Lewiston-Altura (4-1, 6-4), Southland (3-2, 5-5), United South Central (2-3, 5-5), NRHEG (1-4, 2-7), and Hayfield (0-5, 1-8) to grab the Mid-South-Green sub-district title, FC’s fourth straight sub-district title.  The Section 1A champ Falcons’ All-District group is headed by a pair of individual award honorees.  Kane Larson (6’1” 190 Sr. RB/LB) is the sub-district Most Valuable Player while Bridon Bahl (6’0” 185 Jr. QB/S) is the ‘Quarterback of the Year.  Each repeated in making All-District.  Larson had a massive season at running back, tallying 193 carries for 1,336 yards and 25 TDs while also reeling in 12 receptions for 210 yards and another score.   He ran for two or more touchdowns in all eight regular season games, nine of 11 total contests.  The hard-running senior had seven 100-yard-plus games.  He also led the FC defense with 82 total tackles. Larson substantially increased his junior year totals (740 yards, 15 TDs rushing).  He has been selected to play in the 2025 Minnesota High School Football All-Star Game.  Bahl built on a strong sophomore year (2,117 yards, 25 TD, 8 INTs passing) with a good junior year too.  He notched 24 touchdowns versus just three interceptions through the air, throwing at least one TD in every game but one (89 of 127, 1,636 yards) while adding a trio of rushing TDs.  An amazing 27% of his passes went for scores including the five-for-five game versus Hayfield.  Also making A-D for the Falcons are Cody Serfling (5’11” 185 Sr. RB/LB), Joseph Otto (6’3” 270 Jr. OL/DL), Ryan Schroeder (5’11” 255 Jr. OL/DL), and Brody Niemeyer (6’1” 250 Sr. OL/DL).  Serfling (32-316, 4 TDs rushing; 21-306, 8 TDs receiving; 46 total tackles, three interceptions) was a key two-way asset, though a sickness late in the season cost him a trio of games.  Thirty-eight percent of his receptions went for scores.  Much of FC’s offensive success, 246 rushing yards per game and 395 yards per game total, came on the backs of their three big interior linemen Otto, Schroeder and Niemeyer.  Schroeder led the defensive line with 45 total tackles.  Schroeder (eight), Niemeyer (five), and Otto (four) also were high on the list of Falcons in tackles-for-loss.   Coach Chris Mensink is the sub-district’s Coach of the Year, as FC made state a third time in four years.  Making A-D HM for FC are Quinci Kaase (6’0” 175 Jr. WR/DB > 65-804, 4 TDs rushing; 25-416, 7 TDs receiving; team third-best 57 total tackles), Davis Penhollow (5’11” 155 Sr. WR/DB > 22-251, 3 TDs receiving; two interceptions), Ashton Newman (5’9” 170 So. OL/LB > team fourth-best 55 total tackles, 7 TFLs), Rylan Ristau (6’2” 175 So. WR/LB > 26-357, 4 TDs receiving), and Will Boettcher (6’0” 170 Jr. OL/DL > two-way line starter, 29 total tackles).
