Evadine Eide obituary, Fillmore County Journal

June 28, 1939 – March 26, 2025

Evadine Eide, 85, of Rushford, Minn., passed away on March 26, 2025, at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, Minn., surrounded by her family.

Evadine was born on June 28, 1939, to Roman and Angeline (Sonsalla) O’Bieglo.  She married Michael Soppa, Sr, in 1957 and raised five children in the Rushford, Houston and Mabel area. They later divorced.  In 1987, Evadine and Maynard Eide were married and resided in Rushford, Minn.  Evadine enjoyed and took great pride in her gardens, cooking, fishing, bowling, playing cards, polka dancing, and spending time with the family.  There was always a beloved dog on her lap.  

Evadine is survived by her five children: Mike (Barb) Soppa, Jr, Philene Soppa, Glenn (Lana) Soppa, Michelle (Greg) Grebin and Lynn (Jim, Jr.) Goree; two stepdaughters, Rhonda (Maynard) LeFleur and Ann (Brian) Kappauf; brothers Roger O’Bieglo and Butch O’Bieglo, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Maynard, brothers David O’Bieglo and Dale O’Bieglo, sisters Mary Waniorek, Phyliss Moonen, Caroline Schulze and Delores O’Bieglo; daughter-in-law Shawn Edmundson, and great-grandson Rykan Soppa.

A heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to the staff at Chosen Valley Care Center for all the wonderful care over the last two years and also to Mayo Hospice.

There will be a funeral service for Evadine at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford, Minn., with visitation one hour prior to service.
