1. Tell us about yourself.
I moved to Bluff Country when I was 14. Since then I have washed dishes in Canton, fried fish in Preston, taught special education in Houston, and represented the entire region as president of Historic Bluff Country. I am a working class Minnesotan through and through: I know what it’s like to have to put off getting groceries to pay bills, I know what it’s like to have your entire paycheck wiped out by childcare costs, and most importantly I’m now just barely in a life position where now, I can fight for you.
2. Why are you running for office?
I am sick and tired of seeing capital-P Politicians come up here, smile, shrug their shoulders and say there’s just no way to make things better for regular folks while their rich buddies at the top are raking it in. We know things can be better because they used to be. We need to start electing independent voices who will speak for working people, not rich donors. If that’s me, then it is, but if it’s not we all need to rise up and start demanding better of our government. Without us workers, things don’t work. Remember that.
3. What do you hope to accomplish if you get elected?
I promise you I will start from day one, and never stop, yelling my head off to make sure you get to claw back every cent and every bit of happiness that has been taken from you by the rich, all while telling you it’s your own fault our communities are crumbling and have no future. I want to Get Your Money Back and Save Our Small Towns, and I don’t care how long I have to shout about it until it happens. You deserve someone who will fight for you. You deserve better than what you are getting.
