The council reviewed and approved the financial reports (Cash Control Statement, Current Investments, Indebtedness Activity, Receipts Register, Disbursements Register, Arrears Report). Councilmember Luttchens confirmed that the well house payment, principal only, is paid once a year. The length of the note is 10 years. Regarding Schuldt’s question regarding the check received from the DNR, Councilman Lange replied that it was payment to the fire department for going to the grass fire in Caledonia. Lange also noted that there would be other funds coming in from DNR later this year. Communications with residents having delinquent accounts are making progress. Both the mayor and Councilmember Luttchens stated that everything looks standard.
Unfinished business
The mayor spoke with Daryl Meyer, Eitzen City Maintenance, noting the pole inspection will not get started until July.
The city is still waiting to hear back on quotes for the sidewalk and when work will begin on the crack filling and the Winnebago Avenue overlay.
New Business
Family Fun Fest update. The ballpark lights are in, and installation will start within the next two weeks. A lift is needed. Electrical outlets will be installed by the Fest dates so food trucks can plug in and be ready to go. There have been two meetings with food trucks/vendors, and everything looks good. The schedule includes the Grande Parade with 100 entries, softball tournaments, demolition derby on the 4th, music, tractor pull on the 3rd, and the area’s best fireworks on the 4th. A meeting to finalize traffic and safety plans is scheduled for Monday, June 7.

There will be a meeting with MiEnergy regarding rates, on the 26th. There will be more information at the June meeting, and some adjustments may need to be made. The council was reminded that this always comes up at this time of year.
Last year, four tires were installed on the irrigation system, and this year four tires were installed. So that project is now complete.
“The electrical panel installed by pond last fall is working, the sewer system is working, pumps are working, and a little blacktop, and we are good to go,” stated Mayor Adamson.
“If there is nothing else, we will pay the bills,” announced the mayor. After reviewing the April claims payable, the council unanimously approved paying the April bills.
Mayor Adamson called to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 p.m. The motion was unanimously approved.
