Early childhood educators play a vital role in preparing young learners for their educational journeys. At Fillmore Central, we provide a comprehensive range of programs designed for families with children from birth to age 5, addressing all levels of child development.
Our School Readiness and Early Childhood Special Education Program (ECSE) at Fillmore Central focuses on helping students to feel at ease within a classroom environment while equipping them with essential tools for a seamless transition to kindergarten. Our program is distinguished by a 4- Star Parent Aware Rating, reflecting our strong commitment to preparing children for school and beyond.
The preschool experience we offer, which is available for children aged 3 to those entering kindergarten, promotes the inclusion of special education students within our classrooms. This initiative fosters friendships and encourages acceptance of diversity among peers. We also implement the Pyramid Model, an evidence-based framework that promotes healthy social and emotional development in young children.
Furthermore, Fillmore Central collaborates with School Readiness, Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), and the One Block Child Care Center to work closely with ECSE staff and students in providing early intervention services. These services are designed to identify and address developmental challenges or delays in children at the earliest possible stage.
For children under the age of 3, we provide a family-centered model through home visits conducted by district staff and consultants. For children aged 3-5, we utilize a center-based approach that offers specialized services within the classroom setting.
Our Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) program, serving families with children from birth onward, emphasizes strengthening family dynamics through parent education and support, thereby promoting healthy growth and development in children. We aim to organize a monthly child-parent event to foster family engagement.
At the One Block at a Time Childcare Center, we are dedicated to creating nurturing learning environments for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Our age-appropriate activities align with Minnesota early learning standards and are facilitated by state-licensed, CPR/First Aid certified staff who engage in ongoing training. Our School Age Childcare (SAC) program provides a safe, supervised environment for school-aged children, offering a variety of activities that promote positive developmental experiences.
In addition to our youth programs, Fillmore Central Community Education is committed to enhancing the quality of life in the community by providing lifelong learning opportunities for individuals of all ages.
