Spring Valley Ag Days
If you’re eager to test your skills, head to Spring Valley, Minn, from August 13-18, for Ag Days. This annual celebration holds the record for offering the most contests, competitions and tournaments, with the largest variety for all ages and interests. There are 26 different contests waiting for participants to sign up for.
President Stacey Rath invites Fillmore County Journal readers to Spring Valley Ag Days, “Ag Days is a community tradition in Spring Valley. It is where young and old come together from near and far. We have old events and new events every year to make it a fun-filled week for everyone. Come see us at Ag Days ‘24!”
Competitions have long been a tradition at community events, providing a platform for people to improve their skills and fulfill their desire to win. Contests motivate participates to put forth greater effort, and enjoy some fun and games.
The 9-pin bowling tournament kicks off the festivities on Tuesday, August 13. Other events include the KABC golf tourney at the Preston Golf Club, a disk golf tournament, a bean bag tournament, a kids BBQ contest, a pickleball championship, a lawn mower pulling contest, a Bloody Mary contest, a sand volleyball tournament, a 4-man best shot tournament, a softball tournament, the Gopher State Garden Tractor Pull, an adults’ BBQ contest, Top of the Crated Box Derby, a 6K race, a kids fishing contest, water balloon wars, virtual games, kids kickball, a corn pile, corn husking, antique tractor and pickup pull, a dunk tank, a kids pedal tractor pull, the best cocktails of Spring Valley, a sand pile, and a Little Huskers 1K fun run/walk.
