Donna Busse obituary, Fillmore County JOurnal

Nov. 1, 1941 – April 28, 2025

Donna Mae Busse, age 83, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025. Born on November 1, 1941, to Ernest and Rose Fink, Donna was one of four siblings.

She is survived by her sister Karen Eich and was preceded in death by her sister Leilani Searles and brother Keith Fink.

Donna spent her life appreciating the simple joys – crocheting, baking, and sharing home-cooked meals. She worked part-time in the food service industry and was known for her kind demeanor and strong work ethic. Purple was her favorite color, and it reflected her gentle and creative spirit. She was the mother of two children, Julie and Jon Busse. Jon was by her side in her final days, setting aside his last semester of college to be there.

Donna was preceded in death by her daughter Julie, a loss that she carried in her heart.

Donna’s memory will be cherished by her grandchildren: Olivia Busse, Shadden Busse (Chris Walker), and Lane Perdue (Adam Perdue). She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her warmth and humor.

A visitation will be held at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford, Minn., on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. A lunch will be served following the service. Burial will take place afterward at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Rose Creek, Minn. In honor of Donna’s memory, the family invites you to wear something purple, share a recipe, or enjoy a moment of quiet creativity – just as she often did.

Hoff Funeral Home Rushford is assisting the family with arrangements. Please visit www.hofffuneral.com to leave an online condolence.
