Deanna Gaare

March 4, 2025 by Fillmore County Journal

Deanna Gaare obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Deanna Gaare, formerly of Mabel and Preston, Minn., died on February 26, 2025, following a long illness.

Deanna was born and raised in Mabel, Minn., daughter of Blaine and Helen Gaare on November 21, 1965. She graduated from Mabel-Canton High School in 1984. Following high school, she went to St. Cloud Technical and Community College.  She worked for 35 years in the senior care industry as a certified nursing assistant at care facilities in Preston and Harmony, Minn.  She found great joy in caring for residents and from her friendships with co-workers.  In 2021, she moved to Chaska, Minn., to be closer to her sisters.

Deanna was known for her fun-loving, mischievous spirit and great sense of humor.  She was a favorite aunt, sister and sister-in-law, always making family gatherings more fun.  In her free time, she loved to collect vintage treasures and was an avid reader.

She is survived by siblings Michael Rouster of Winona, Angela Gaare of Minneapolis, Dennis (Myong Suk) Gaare of Huntsville, Ala., Cynthia (Angie) Gaare of Chaska, Minn., and Jackie (Eric) Gaare of Minneapolis; brother-in-law Wes Brynsaas of Algona, Iowa; and aunt Evangeline (Vangie) Schellsmidt of Caledonia.  She had eight nieces and a nephew, also many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Blaine and Helen Gaare, and her sister Susan Brynsaas.

Celebration of life is planned later in the spring.
