Christopher Michael Cremer, of Harmony, Minn., passed away on November 10, 2024, at the age of 66.
Chris was born on June 11, 1958, in La Crosse, Wis., to Donald and Audrey (Copeman) Cremer. He moved to Harmony in 1968 and graduated from Harmony High School in 1976.
He joined Harmony Enterprises, Inc. (HECO GPI) in October 1978 as a third-generation employee, working alongside family. Starting as a welder, Chris’ hard work and shared goals allowed him to grow within the company. He eventually became Vice President of Operations. After 37 years of dedicated service, he retired in 2015.
For Chris, life was best lived outdoors. He enjoyed more than 45 years of fishing trips to Canada. His hunting trips took him all over the country bagging everything from bear to prairie dog. Those who had the privilege of hearing Chris’ hunting stories often remarked that he ought to “write a book.” Always ready with a joke or a clever one-liner, his humor was a gift that brightened the lives of those around him.
Chris was an active member of the Harmony Conservation Club. His favorite activities (besides hunting and fishing) were gathering with friends and spending time shooting clays with the South East Minnesota Trap Association.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children Traci Dedeker and Nathan Cremer, grandson Dreigh Cremer, mother Audrey Cremer, siblings Steven (Umbelina) Cremer, Bruce (Hui Sun) Cremer, Suzanne (Paul) Gydesen, and Janet (Troy) Christianson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Chris was preceded in death by his father Donald Cremer, and grandparents Al and Rose Cremer and Donald and Ruby Copeman.
All are welcome to join in celebrating Chris’ life from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the Schmelzer (formerly known as Lindstrom) Funeral Home in Harmony. A private family burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Canton, Minn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Harmony Conservation Club. Schmelzer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
