The city council approved dates for the citywide cleanup at their March 25 meeting. Councilors Paul Novotny and Josh Broadwater were absent.
The citywide cleanup will begin on May 6. Appliances, televisions, large electronics, mattresses and box springs can be picked up beginning on May 9.
A resolution was adopted authorizing the transfer of funds in the amount of $267,299 from the General Fund to the Capital Improvement Fund.
The Ambulance meeting reimbursement rate was changed to an hourly rate of $6.67 per hour in order to better show the breakdown between the different categories on one’s paycheck.
A Limited Use Permit (LUP) was granted by MnDOT to the city of Chatfield for use of the right of way of Trunk Highway (TH) 74 for the construction, maintenance, and operation of an all-terrain vehicle trail. The LUP was approved.
A resolution was adopted approving an agreement between the Minnesota DNR and the city of Chatfield authorizing the signature for the submission of the 2024-2026 Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Trails Assistance Program (grant-in-aid) Maintenance Project. The city serves as the local government sponsor of the Chatfield ATV Trail. Chatfield Trails, Inc. has the resources to maintain the trail.
A routine maintenance agreement between Olmsted County (Public Works Department) and the city of Chatfield for 2024 was approved. The county will reimburse the city for maintenance performed on CSAH 10 beginning at the intersection of TH 52 and Union St., then east on Union St. to Avenue C and north to Wahlen Valley Rd. NE (five tenths of a mile).
Approval was granted to submit to collections outstanding invoices totaling $8,500.
A Minnesota lawful gambling exempt permit was approved for the Chatfield Ambulance Activities Association, Inc.
Approval was granted to hire Griffin Construction Co., Inc. to replace two hydrants on Avenue A and two gate valves on Avenue B. The quote provided is not to exceed $26,718; it will be actual time and material for the work.
Councilor Dave Frank, reporting for the Park and Recreation Committee, said they plan to hold a disc golf tournament on April 6.
Mayor John McBroom praised the Public Works crew, saying they did a good job cleaning up after the recent snow event.
The city council meets next on April 8.
