Student senate representative, Paige Root said the Snowball Dance in March was well attended.  The Student Senate took a field trip to an Escape Room and working together, they all were able to free themselves from the room.

Principal Nelson said May is “award” season. The Academic Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. The Chatfield High School Academic Awards Ceremony recognizes excellence in the classroom and non-athletic activities for grades 9-12. This event and the Senior Recognition are both switching from a dinner to having a dessert. The Middle School Achievement Program will be held Wednesday, May 18 in the morning. This event will highlight the accomplishments of seventh and eighth graders in the classroom and in non-athletic activities. The Class of 2022 Senior Recognition will take place on Monday, May 93 at 6:30 p.m. Seniors will be recognized for a variety of accomplishments and celebrated prior to their graduation in June. Student speakers for the event include seniors Anne Borgen and Katelyn Dornack. The Chatfield High School Commencement will take place on Sunday, June 5 at 1:30 p.m. This is a ticketed event to celebrate our new graduates. The ceremony will feature student comments from seniors Lauren Cole, Abbi Gillespie and Tessa McMahon, along with student names being read by Madeline Clemens and Jaiden Zimmerman.

Elementary Principal Shane McBroom reported that the Kindergarten Round-Up was very successful and 60 students are registered to attend kindergarten next school year.  The D.A.R.E. graduation was held on Monday for the sixth graders. He thanked Officer Kevin Landorf for the efforts he puts in to provide this experience for the sixth graders.

Superintendent Harris updated the board on the food service RFP (request for proposal) process.  A contract should be forthcoming at the June board meeting for board members to approve.  The high school site plan is currently out for bid.  The bids will be opened on May 10 and the board will need to meet to award the contracts at a special meeting the next morning, May 11, at 8 a.m. The CYFB (Chatfield Youth Football) and the school board Finance and Facility Committee continue to look at viable options to improve the seating and press box situation at the football field and track.
