Charles “Chuck” Dean Bestor, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 3, 2024, in College Station, Tex., at 62 years old.
He was born on April 28, 1961, in Harmony, Minn., and lived in Preston, Minn. He graduated from Preston-Fountain High School in 1979. He then joined the United States Army for four years, stationed in Germany. He was honored with receiving the ‘Commendation Medal for Outstanding Meritorious Service.’ Upon returning from the Army, Chuck attended Mankato State University, where he also joined the (ROTC) Reserve Officers’ Training Corps.
Following his military service, Chuck felt the calling into the ministry; attending Minnesota Bible College in Rochester, Minn., and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Tex. He was blessed to be able to serve his Lord, the church, and community for 29 years as a Minister of Administration to Central Church in College Station, Tex.
He and his beloved wife enjoyed traveling together on many adventures and places. He found great pleasure in fishing and campfires with his children and grandchildren, imparting his love of the outdoors. He was a true fan of Texas A&M Aggie sports, attending many games with family. Chuck was always there for his family, offering love, guidance, and support in abundance.
Chuck is survived by his wife and best friend of 37 years, Cynthia Elaine Bestor, and their children Catie/Jess Parker, Carrie/Chris Sneed, Corey Bestor, Courtney/Matt Dudley, and Chelsea/Charles Hunnicutt; grandchildren Chase and Cole Parker, Aryanna Sneed, Dean, Henry, and Cullum Dudley, Syler and Hunter Hunnicutt, and Harley Martinez; siblings Terry/Jan Bestor, Scott/Trish Bestor, Jacki/Jeff Gillespie, Pam Bestor/Alyson Shaff, Tim/Michelle Bestor, Todd/Tana Bestor, and Betty Jo/Mike Stoppelmoor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents Galard Don Bestor and Norma Jean (Sanborn) Bestor of Preston, Minn., and grandson Maverick Charles Hunnicutt.
A memorial service was held for family and close friends/co-workers on Saturday, March 9 at Central Church in College Station, Tex. A Celebration of Life Service will also be held at Central on Sunday, March 24 at 11 a.m. This event will be livestreamed on www.centralbcs.org.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Central Church Building Fund or the Next Campaign, 1991 FM 158, College Station, Tex. 77845.
