Spring Grove junior Elijah Solum was tabbed as the top basketball junior, “The Junior of the Year” in Section 1A by Ryan James, the leading resource for basketball recruiting in Minnesota. Records Fall at Glen Amundsen Invite

Three “Journal 11” track and field programs competed at Stewartville’s “Glen Amundsen” Invite and all three had kids break long-standing records. Fillmore Central football and boys basketball each had high-water seasons. After three baseball games, with help from some Lanesboro kids, baseball is off to a strong start. Gophers Baseball Notches Wins Over “Runners Up”

Chatfield baseball had a good week, posting two wins over teams that were section runners-up last season. In a rematch of last year’s 1AA-East title game, the Gophers trailed PEM 4-0 after the Bulldogs’ second inning only for Chatfield to have a seven-run sixth to lead 10-4. Spring Grove led twice but managed only one base hit in a 17-7 loss to Fillmore Central/Lanesboro on April 13 at Preston. Katelyn Kraus singled into right field to drive in two runs during the Lions’ big six-run second inning, which took advantage of two walks, two hit batters and two FC/L errors. New era of Spring Grove softball begins with road loss at P-E-M

A new era of softball in Spring Grove began with a 2-0 lead before home team Plainview-Elgin-Millville replied with four runs in the bottom of the inning. The Bulldogs would prevail by the run rule, 18-3, during the fourth inning. It was the first game for a stand-alone Spring Grove team in 39 years (1984). Lion boys stunned by last-inning loss at Southland

It was a gut-wrenching baseball loss for Spring Grove, which never trailed until the final play. Southland used three unearned runs in the final half inning to rally past the Lions, 5-4, on April 18 at Adams.
