Carolyn Jane  Mundfrom Olsen

September 1, 2020 by Fillmore County Journal

Carolyn Jane Mundfrom Olsen passed through the gates of heaven on August, 25, 2020. Carolyn was home surrounded by her family and friends when her earthly journey ended.

Her journey began on April 8, 1951. She grew up on a farm in rural southern Minnesota, with two younger brothers, Edward G. Mundfrom and Joseph P. Mundfrom. In 1971 she married Richard A. Olsen, for almost 49 years they journeyed together, raising four children, adopting another and fostering many through the years.

Carolyn’s love for her family is only surpassed by her love of The Lord. Carolyn lived her faith daily, with her favorite verse James 1:22 always in mind.

While her family is comforted by the knowledge of her new home in glory, she will be greatly missed here on earth. She is survived by her husband Rick, daughter ChrisTina (Richard) Orchard, daughter-in-law Angie (James) Olsen, sons Paul Olsen and Mark (Melaney Walkes) Olsen and adopted son Ron Olsen and children. Her grandchildren, Kyle, Quinten, Caleb, Kaley, Colten and McKenzie were blessed by her faithful prayer for them.

She was reunited with her son James, her brother Edward, and others at the gates of heaven. Carolyn’s faith touched and impacted many through the years and her absence will be felt by all who knew her.

Her celebration of life ever after was held on August 29, 2020, at High Point Church in Rochester, Minn.
