Calvin Ordell “Dusty” Anderson

Calvin Anderson obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Calvin Ordell “Dusty” Anderson was born July 2, 1953, in Decorah, Iowa, to Ordell and Edna (Iverson) Anderson. He graduated from Mabel-Canton High School in 1971.

Calvin began farming with his dad and continued after his death on the family farm. He later worked at Fastenal in Winona. On April 1, 1995 he married Ann Buecksler at the Newburg United Methodist Church. She unfortunately passed away unexpectedly a short time later. 

Calvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, golf and was a gun enthusiast, and up until his death owned a gun restoration and repair business. He loved visiting, playing cards and he was a jokester.

Calvin passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Green Lea Senior Living in Mabel, at the age of 69.

Calvin is survived by three sisters: Jean of Caledonia, Carolyn of Lake City, and Linda of Decorah; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Ann, his parents Ordell and Edna, and a great-niece, Taylor Johnson.

Visitation will be 4–6 p.m., Saturday, May 6 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel.

The family will have a private burial at the Choice cemetery.
