Burton Page Baker

February 21, 2024 by Fillmore County Journal

Burton Baker obituary, Fillmore county Journal

Most of you know him as Burt or Mr. Baker, but his great grandkids call him “The Great one.”  At 99 years old, Burt, who was a Navy vet, lived a full life. He was born on October 26, 1924, and passed February 16, 2024.

Burt leaves behind his youngest, son Steven Baker Sr. and his daughter Jolene Chambers. Burton was grandfather to Desirae Baker and Steven Baker Jr., and great-grandfather to Zaydie Lynn, Abriana, Skyler, Tyler, Elise and Wyatt.

Burt is now in heaven with Doris Baker, his wife of 70 years and his daughter Susan Baker .

“Hey old man, we love you and we will keep the family together and strong.”

“I will give you a new heart, a new spirit within you and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and make you a heart of flesh.”

God, we want our hearts to be whole, living, breathing, feeling fully connected to you. We will never forget you… you made us what we are… love you, Great One!

Sending my sympathy to the whole family.
Burton and I were cousins. His Mother and my Mother were sisters.
I live in Las Vegas but used to come back every year to visit and
would always see Burton and his sister Dorothy.
    We have good memories.
    Will miss them both.
