Warriors Streak to 17, Grab TRC Title

Caledonia baseball lost its opener on April 5. Over a month later, they have not lost again. A 3-0 week ran the Warriors streak to 17. Win 15 in a row fell by 15-0 score, as Chatfield’s pitching walked 10 in five innings. Cal’s Reid Klug (5 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K) collected the win, helping himself (1-2, 2B, RBI, R). Drew Yahnke (2-3, R) drove in four to lead the offense. Ben Stemper (2-3, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R), Tanner Ginther (1-3, 2 RBI, R), Owen Denstad 2-3, 2 R), and Jack Schmitz (4 R) also contributed. Jack Dornack and Kaisen Johnson (1-2) led the Gophers. Hosting FC/L, Garrett Konz (2-2, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 3 R) had a three-run home run to lead the Warriors to a 11-1 win in six innings. Ginther (3-5, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R) and Stemper (2-4, 3 RBI) also did work. Hunter Goetzinger (1-3, 2B, RBI, R) and Yahnke (1-2, RBI) helped on ‘O.’ The latter picked up the win (6 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K). Thomas Pikula (1-2, 2B) drove in FC/L’s run. The Falcons are 0-11 (TRC), 1-14 (overall). The Warriors then rode Landon O’Heron (6 2/3 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 8 K, Win, 1-3, 2 R) and Konz (2-4, 2B, 3 RBI, R) to a 6-2 win over St. Charles. Konz’s double drove in three runs. Denstad (1-3, RBI) and Ginther (1-4, 2 R) chipped in on offense. With the win, the Warriors (13-0, 17-1) wrapped up the TRC-East title. It was their 15th game (ninth straight) of giving up two or less runs.

Three Rivers Conference Baseball (5/7 – 5/10)

Rushford-Peterson 4, Plainview-Elgin-Millville 5 (R-P: J. Bunke 1-3, 2B, 2 RBI; Connor Vaughn 1-2, 2 R; R. Schneider 6 2/3 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, Loss. PEM walked-it-off with a two-out RBI-single in the bottom of the seventh)

Fillmore Central/Lanesboro 0, Wabasha-Kellogg 9 (FC: Levi Rogers 1 2/3 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K. FCL had one hit)

They ended a five-game losing streak)
