Barbara Jean McCabe, 78, of Mabel, died Friday, November 3, surrounded by her family at her home.
Barb was born August 31, 1945, in Spring Grove to Knute V. and Lillian (Haakenson) Hagen.
She married Loren McCabe on June 10, 1963. They were blessed with three children: Jeff, Joel, and Lori. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, their trips to Bullhead City, Ariz., and morning coffee with the “girls.”
Barb is survived by her husband Loren of Mabel; children Jeff (Rhonda) of Blooming Prairie, Minn., Joel (Curtis) of Guaymas Sonora, Mexico, and Lori (Joel) Casterton of Franksville, Wis.; five grandsons: Brendan (Kayla), Ryan (Shari), Mateo, Drew and Will; six great-grandchildren: Eloise, Macsen, Theo, Brecken, Callen and Soren; her siblings Lorraine (Ray) Wickett, George (Joanne) Hagen and Karl (Barbara) Hagen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Friday, November 10 at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Mabel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
